Missed a few days...

That cold really got to me - was feeling very low and didn't have energy or enthusiasm to write anything for a few days..

I see the insurance companies look to make more profit.. Apparently the courts look likely to rule in favour of sex discrimination  against different rates for motor insurance for girls versus boys. Insurance has always been based on risk, and priced accordingly. It's hardly comprehensible that the insurance companies will reduce the cost of insurance for boys in line with what they charge girls, so therefore girls will have to pay more, even though they are statistically lower risk. The world just gets madder and madder....

Which leads me nicely into Gadaffi and the Libya status.... When is the west going to realise that the middle east and Arab culture is fundamentaly different from our own societies and therefore our way of life does not fit. These people live a completely different culture where they are bound by different compelling forces, religion, tribal, state, family etc. These forces are not things that can be voted on in a democratic way - they are the basic rules that are embedded in the way they think and behave. But the west's media can't let a good news story opportunity stand in the way of people's lives - now they smell blood they will relentlessly tear at the fabric until it is torn apart and Gadaffi is toppled, so they can report it, hopefully first. Then they will move on to some other topic while Libyan's are left to rebuild their battered society.
