Still got the Damn Cold

Yet another day of snuffles and coughs - getting fed up of this but it seems to be moving down to my chest now :(

I notice in the news today that British Gas profit has risen by 29%, this is after the 7% price increase they said was necessary to cover rising costs. Why do I smell a rat here... Another case of rip-off britain no less
Maybe the additional profit they have made will be redistributed to the consumers in the form of an energy bonus? Somehow I doubt it...

This Damn Cold

Well, the cold I got in Germany hasn't reduced any and is making me feel pretty lousy today. I'm all lemsipped up but it's not having any effect.

I see the earthquake toll in New Zealand is rising, upto 75 now and a reported 300 missing. Earthquakes (serious ones) seem to be on the increase which prompts the questions about the San Andreas fault, when? how bad? I think the last one was in 2004, so hopefully a long time off for the next.

Off to China in March, that'll be a first. No idea what to expect.

Back in UK

FlyBe was 30mins late on the return from Dusseldorf last night so I didn't get in until gon 10:30pm. I also have a stinking head cold now.

Bad news about the earthquake in New Zealand - I know some people who live down there so hope they are all OK.

Duesseldorf today

Today I am in Duesseldorf, Germany. I flew in last night via FlyBe from Manchester (FlyBe - the airline that charges BA prices and operates EasyJet practices. The worst of both worlds!)

The thing I like about Germany is it's efficiency. No delays at the airport, nice, clean Taxi's, reasonable prices. It just works and they are not looking to rip you off - unlike the UK (FlyBe take note! £400+ for the return flght and they still want to charge £3.50 for a coffee on the plane!)

Morocco - Protests

Looks like we got out of Morocco in time. Having spent several days in Marakesh we left for UK on 19th Feb, protests began on Sunday 20th Feb. I hope it stays peaceful - it's a lovely country and the people are really nice.

Decisions not related to finance

For once, I think it would be great for the Government in the UK to make a decision not based on finance - you know maybe, for the good of the people, or for the benefit to the country, or because it's the right thing to do no matter what it costs.... It seems every single decision is based around minimum cost and that can only lead to decline ultimately.
